Eastern Shore of Virginia Real Estate Listings
Virginia's Eastern Shore is a narrow peninsula of land bordered by
the Chesapeake Bay to the West and Atlantic Ocean to the East.
The Eastern Shore is connected to Maryland by land, but the only
connection to the rest of Virginia is by way of the 17 mile long
Chesapeake Bay
Bridge Tunnel. The remote nature of this area has kept it
relatively undeveloped. Agriculture is still a major industry
here and homes are scattered throughout the countryside. But the
proximity to both the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean makes this a
special place. Tidal waterways, known locally as creeks, bisect
the peninsula, creating a series of "necks" and many, many
opportunities for waterfront living.
Much of the activity on the Eastern Shore centers around the
larger towns of
Cape
Charles,
Onancock and
Chincoteague. But there are dozens of smaller towns, many
waterfront, scattered around the region. Explore available real
